K. Dwayne Fulks, MD
Dr. K. Dwayne Fulks was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and there he spent many of his early years. He later moved to Manchester, Tennessee, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1981 magna cum laude with a degree in biology and chemistry.
Dr. Fulks attended medical school at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. He graduated in the top five of his medical school class and received the prestigious Dean Award for outstanding medical student. He was also inducted into the National Medical Society called Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Fulks completed his surgical training at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He completed a plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
During this training, Dr. Fulks was involved in numerous research endeavors that include studies in facial trauma, cancer and vascular surgery and published numerous studies in the medical literature. Dr. Fulks came to Columbia, Tennessee to start his plastic surgery practice in 1991. He has established himself as a provider of high quality plastic surgery. Dr. Fulks has made every effort to provide high-quality plastic surgery in a more rural environment. Even though he practices outside of the Nashville area, Dr. Fulks was voted in the top 10 Plastic Surgeons in the Nashville area in a poll by WSMV-TV.
Dr. Fulks' interests include cycling, cooking, oil painting, piano, guitar and mission work in Guatemala. Dr. Fulks is married and has three wonderful children. He has been in practice for more than 20 years in Columbia, Tennessee.
