RESPIRATORY therapy services at marshall medical center
 

The respiratory system is vital to good health and is responsible for providing oxygen to the body and expelling carbon dioxide. The lungs are the primary organs in the respiratory system and may be impacted by diseases and conditions such as cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, influenza, pneumonia and other illnesses.

Respiratory therapists, working under the direction of a physician, are licensed professionals who use evidence-based protocols to evaluate and treat patients with breathing disorders. 

Marshall Medical Center offers respiratory therapy services to hospitalized patients as welll as those who have an order from their provider for outpatient testing.

 Inpatient services include:

• Oxygen administration
• Aerosol and humidity therapy
• Pulmonary function testing

Outpatient services include:

• Arterial blood gases (ABG)
• Pulmonary function test (PFT)

A physician's order is required for outpatient respiratory therapy services. Ask your provider for more information or schedule a test by calling our scheduling line at 931.380.4044.
