Geriatric Behavioral Health
More than half of all Americans will experience behavioral health issues in their lifetime. Most often, these issues arise within our elderly loved ones.
When behavioral health issues arise, seek compassionate and professional help through Senior Life Solutions, Marshall Medical Center’s outpatient geriatric behavioral health program.
Outpatient Care Close to Home
Our outpatient program provides one-on-one support and group therapy to help seniors cope with emotional health needs. Therapists develop an individual care plan for each patient with daily activities and education in a supportive setting. Patients attend 11 hours or less of treatment per week.
Signs of behavioral health issues may include:
- Sadness, crying spells, worrying
- Thoughts or attempts of suicide
- Poor appetite or loss of interest in food
- Decreased energy
- Mood swings
- Anxiety or nervousness
- Difficulty managing anger or stress
- Feelings of helplessness or hopelessness
- Depression or loneliness
Teletherapy Available
Senior Life Solutions now offers teletherapy to allow patients to receive care while remaining at home. Teletherapy services are provided via telephone or computer by a licensed therapist. After an initial assessment, Senior Life Solutions individualizes a care plan for each patient where they meet up to three times per week in an encouraging, supportive setting. All Senior Life Solutions services are confidential and HIPAA compliant.
