Job Shadowing
In an effort to promote ongoing interest in health care careers, Maury Regional Health provides opportunities for students to job shadow health care professionals in some of our facilities. The goals of the job shadowing program are to assist students in the following:
- Observe the daily routines of health care workers
- Begin to identify career interests in health care
- Gain awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in health care professions
- Gain an understanding that different health careers have work environments that can be unique to a particular profession
- Develop an understanding of the critical connections between school, work and goal attainment
Job shadowing will be supervised and structured in order to ensure the students' experience is valuable and safe. Students will not participate in patient care or perform any type of work. Job shadowing is for observation only.
The job shadowing participant must be at least 16 years of age. Any participant under the age of 18 will need the parent/legal guardian to sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Release form before the minor can job shadow.
The personal appearance of job shadowing participants must comply with the Personal Appearance Policy. Attire cannot include jeans, sweatpants, tank tops/bare midriffs, baggy clothes or clothes that drag the floor, exposed undergarments or sandals/flip flops.
