Career Navigation

Career navigation helps employees plan and pursue their career goals by identifying interests, skills and values. During one-on-one meetings, the career navigator and employee discuss what the employee hopes to achieve at the organization and their goals for career advancement, continuing education and more. Together, they develop a personalized plan of action for the future and monitor progress on the path to completing that plan.

Apprenticeship Programs

Maury Regional Health offers industry-recognized and competency-based apprenticeship programs in partnership with Dallas College for full-time employees looking to enhance their skills in their chosen career path.

The apprenticeship program combines paid-work, on-the-job training and industrial components as apprentices learn from and work with a preceptor, who is a highly trained member of their department. Each apprenticeship is designed for employees to earn an accredited credential upon reaching the end of each level of their program. These credentials are industry-recognized and will stay with the employee throughout their career. In addition, each apprentice who obtains a credential earns an “add-on” incentive to their pay per hour.

Where an apprentice begins their journey to certification is determined by their prior work experiences and the results of the required competency-based learning exam that takes place at the beginning of the apprenticeship. The length of the apprenticeship program may vary based on these results. There is no cost for the employee to participate in the apprenticeship program.

    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CSCST®)
  • Supply Chain | Certification from the Association for Supply Chain Management
    • Entry-level Certification in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM®)
    • Mid-level Certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP®)
  • Medical Assistance | Certification from the National Healthcareer Association
    • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA®)

TCAT Hohenwald's Practical Nursing Program

Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia and Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro are proud to serve as classroom locations for Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Hohenwald’s Practical Nursing program.

TCAT Hohenwald’s Practical Nursing program provides the learning experiences — including technical instruction and skill development — to enable graduates to obtain the basic competencies needed to secure licensure. Upon completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to take the state licensure exam. Upon completing and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), the candidate may be licensed as a practical nurse (LPN).

The program consists of 1,296 hours, with approximately half of the hours spent in various clinical settings. Two options are available at Maury Regional Medical Center, including a full-time day program (12 months across three trimesters) and a part-time evening program (16 months across four trimesters).

All applicants must take and pass the HESI entrance exam and submit an application to TCAT Hohenwald. To apply for the program or to access additional information, including details about tuition, curriculum and program requirements, visit TCATHohenwald.edu.
