Martin Chaney, MD

Martin M. Chaney, MD
Chief Executive Officer

Martin M. Chaney, MD, serves as chief executive officer (CEO) for Maury Regional Health. He has more than 25 years of clinical and management experience, 21 of which have been at Maury Regional Health. In addition to overseeing system operations as CEO, he is responsible for the areas of clinical quality, physician relations and physician recruitment. He received his medical degree from University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He completed his internship and residency at University of South Alabama Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Chaney is board certified in internal medicine.


Charlie Brinkley
Chief Administrative Officer

Charlie Brinkley, MBA, serves as the chief administrative officer (CAO). He joined the organization in July 2021 and has approximately 20 years of experience in accounting and hospital financial services, most recently serving as the CFO for Singing River Health System in Jackson and Harrison counties in Mississippi. Mr. Brinkley provides oversight for all health system financial functions, executive leadership for the hospitals of Marshall Medical Center and Wayne Medical Center, as well as the departments of Health Information Management, Coding and Supply Chain at Maury Regional Medical Center. He holds a Master of Business Administration and his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.


Dennis Fisher
Chief Human Resources Officer

Dennis Fisher, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, serves as chief human resources officer (CHRO). He has been employed since 2021 and has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. As CHRO, he oversees all human resources functions, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, benefits, training and development, employee health services and volunteer services. Mr. Fisher holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in human resources from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Atlanta, Georgia. His certifications include senior professional in human resources and senior certified professional by the Society of Human Resources Management.


Christina Lannom, DO
Chief Medical Officer

Christina Lannom, DO, was appointed chief medical officer (CMO) for Maury Regional Health in April 2023. Dr. Lannom joined the organization as the executive director of patient outcomes and senior physician adviser in 2014 and served as interim CMO upon the promotion of Martin Chaney, MD, to CEO. She has more than 20 years of clinical and management experience, including serving as the hospitalist program medical director for a 203-bed acute care hospital. As CMO, she will provide oversight for medical staff services, case management, population health, infection prevention, pharmacy and the hospital medicine program. Dr. Lannom received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. She completed her internship at Des Peres Hospital in Des Peres, Missouri and her residency at SouthPointe Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Lannom is board certified in internal medicine and also holds certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.


Deborah Lumpkins
Chief Operating Officer

Deborah Lumpkins, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, serves as chief operating officer (COO). She has been employed since 2000 and has more than 25 years of clinical and management experience. As COO, she provides oversight of facility and program planning and executive leadership for the departments of EMS, Environmental Services, Facility Services, Home Services, Imaging, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, Women’s Center and Wound Center at Maury Regional Medical Center. Ms. Lumpkins holds a bachelor of nursing degree from the University of North Alabama, a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Alabama and a doctor of nursing practice degree in executive leadership from American Sentinel University.


Cathy Malone
Chief Nursing Officer

Cathy Malone, MMHC, BSN, serves as chief nursing officer. She has been employed since 2001 and has more than 29 years of clinical and management experience. As CNO, she oversees all medical and surgical inpatient units/departments as well as the Emergency Department and Nursing Professional Development Department. Mrs. Malone holds a bachelor of nursing degree from Austin Peay State University and Master of Management in Health Care at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.


Linda Moore
Chief Legal Officer
 
Linda Moore, JD, CHC, CHPC, serves as Chief Legal Officer (CLO). As CLO, she oversees all legal services to Maury Regional Health system and its Board of Trustees, and also oversees the departments of Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit and Patient Experience. Ms. Moore received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School, graduating as the Founder’s Medalist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University, double-majoring in economics and sociology. Ms. Moore has been awarded a certification in Healthcare Compliance and a certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance. Prior to joining Maury Regional Health in 2000, Ms. Moore was in the private practice of law, taught at Vanderbilt University Law School and was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Gilbert S. Merritt, Chief Judge of the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.

 

Greg Whitlock
Chief Information Officer

Greg Whitlock, CPA, CISA, serves as chief information officer. He joined the organization in 2018 and has approximately 20 years of experience in financial services and information technology teams in the health care arena. Mr. Whitlock previously served as controller for the organization and, prior to joining Maury Regional Health, served as the corporate controller for King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and is a certified public accountant and certified information systems auditor.


 

Phyllis Brown
Chief Executive Officer, Rural Hospitals

Phyllis Brown, serves as the chief executive officer of Maury Regional Health (MRH) rural hospitals, providing executive oversight for Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg and Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro. Ms. Brown joined the organization in 1996 and has held several leadership roles, most recently serving as chief executive officer at Marshall Medical Center since 2007. Previously, she served as chief financial officer at both Marshall Medical Center and Wayne Medical Center. Ms. Brown has more than 35 years of experience in hospital finance and administration. Prior to joining MRH, she worked at Humana, Columbia HCA and Healthtrust. Brown holds a degree in business and finance from the College of Virginia.


 

Nathan Miller
President, Maury Regional Medical Group

Nathan Miller, PT, MMHC, serves as president of Maury Regional Medical Group (MRMG). Mr. Miller has more than 21 years of clinical and management experience within the Maury Regional Health (MRH) system. He joined the organization in 2001 practicing as a physical therapist at Maury Regional Medical Center and went on to serve in numerous director positions within MRH, most recently being executive director of the MRMG Primary Care Division. Mr. Miller has experience in the areas of operational management, physician practices, Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Clinics. Mr. Miller obtained a master's degree in health care management from Vanderbilt University, as well as a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Memphis.
