Cardiovascular Assessment
This class provides an overview of the nursing care for the patient with a temporary and permanent pacemaker.
Content covered includes: use of pacemakers, interpretation of the paced cardiac rhythm, and detecting complications of a paced rhythm.
Pre-requisite: An understanding of basic cardiac rhythm interpretation and treatment.
Course objectives include:
- Describe the essential components of a cardiovascular assessment.
- Demonstrate methods to conduct a comprehensive physical assessment of the cardiovascular system.
- Differentiate normal and abnormal findings that may be noted with the physical assessment.
This course is approved for four continuing nursing education units.
Maury Regional Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
