Critical Care Services

Maury Regional Medical Center offers a state-of-the-art critical care floor to provide sophisticated medical care for patients who have experienced trauma, as well as those recovering from surgical procedures and critical illnesses. The physicians and nursing staff have advanced training in caring for critical patients. They are complemented by a multi-disciplinary team that includes—but is not limited to—respiratory therapists, pharmacists and physical therapists.

The 28,000 square foot Critical Care Department has been designed with enhanced equipment and amenities for families and visitors. Enhanced features of the critical care area on the floor include:

  • Booms that enable equipment to be powered from a central ceiling arm, reducing fall risks and increasing efficiency
  • Patient lifts in every room that assist in mobilizing patients, reducing the risk of respiratory complications, improving outcomes and increasing safety
  • Larger rooms that include an alcove with a sleeper sofa for visitors and private bathroom for the patient

In 2022, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses recognized the medical center's critical care unit with its gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence. This award recognized the commitment of the critical care team to optimize patient outcomes through a consistent and systematic approach to evidence-based care.
