Health Insurance Marketplace
As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, there is a requirement that many people obtain insurance coverage or pay a penalty. To address this, insurance exchanges have been developed that guarantee access to coverage regardless of pre-existing health conditions. In Tennessee, health coverage options are provided through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace.
What is the Marketplace?
It is a place where individuals can purchase health insurance that meets their needs and budget through a web portal, toll-free call center, or in-person at a local provider.
